The last two weeks at The Rutherford House have been packed with holiday festivities! On Friday, December 18th, we had our holiday themed Birthday luncheon. The center was decorated with wreaths, red and white table cloths, Christmas trees, and snowflakes and there was plenty of joy in the air from the Sentimentals who sang holiday songs. Santa also made an appearance at the event and took pictures with our members and of course danced to his favorite seasonal songs.
After the holiday luncheon, on Monday, December 21st, our members enjoyed making gingerbread houses! Jessica Perry from Brookdale Senior Living Solutions hosted the craft and taught everyone how to make little gingerbread houses from graham crackers!
Today will wrap up our holiday fun with a $5 gift exchange, an ugly sweater contest, and cookies. Thank you to everyone who participated in or volunteered to help with our different activities. We wouldn't have wanted to celebrate the holidays any other way!
